PTI was engaged by Event Hospitality & Entertainment (owners of Rydes and QT Hotels and one of Australia’s leading Hotel Operators) to be the Architect for their new brand of business hotels designed for the mid-market young urban traveller.  This property was designed as the prototype property for the new brand. It has 122 rooms and an array of public areas. The interior design was by Nic Graham & Associates.

The concept and idea has been to build a very cost effective and efficient building to both construct and to operate, that draws on the history of the site as a Drive In Theatre which has brought much pleasure to people over many years, together with that of a modern new generation hotel for the young urban traveller who is looking for high experience at an affordable price.  As such, the design has a theatrical and whimsical quality and expression to provide low cost “pleasurable” experience for guests and visitors.  Key to the concept also is the creation of an inviting main public space in the form of a Bar and Restaurant which also works as a local destination and facility for the workers and businesses in the area, in the spirit of a typical Australian local “Pub”.  As such the property is much more than a hotel built just for its guests, but is a place for the entire local community.

The property has performed very well ever since opening and the brand has since been expanded with other properties including those in Doveton in Victoria and Albury which we have also been the Architect for.
