My thesis to graduate Architecture school was entitled “The Resort : A Scenario of Pleasure”. This study first identified Pleasure as the key ingredient of a successful tourism property. It then set about gaining an understanding of Pleasure so as to develop an Architecture of Pleasure. This study and the broadening and understanding of how to create Places of Pleasure and why they are so important in our lives has continued over the last now 40 years. It has also been a constant theme and subject of exploration in the work of PTI since commencement.
In the process our practice has had the privilege of applying these insights to design and create many distinctive properties that continue to be successful in the market. So now, after more than 35 years of designing and creating a wide range of hotels, resorts, residential and managed accommodation properties, and working and learning from many leading owners, developers and operators in the market, PTI 1Earth is moving forward as a complementary Strategic, Commercial and Experiential Advisory and Management practice, working together with our Architecture and Interior Design services to in more detail develop new Designs and Design Concepts and to implement them in the market.
In reality, we have been providing this service also since our establishment in 1991 to create new landmark properties, as well as new hotel and accommodation brands, new hybrid property models, as well as re-launching and upgrading existing assets, and delivering new projects. The purpose being to further assist our clients to create and maintain high-performing investment properties.
